Soccer jerseys are the slimmest, most tailored cut of the six major leagues — closer to the body than NBA, NFL, MLB or NHL shirts of the same label. If you want a relaxed fit, or you plan to wear a layer underneath, order one size up. Everything below is the real chart we use before shipping.
There is a second decision that matters more than most buyers expect: whether you are buying the player cut or the replica cut. They are not the same garment, and on most teams they are not the same price.
Key facts
- Soccer fit: athletic / slim. It sits close to the body by design.
- Chest is the number that matters. Measure it — not the shirt you already own.
- Between two sizes? Always size up. Soccer has the least slack of any league.
- Replica (fan) cut: looser through the body, the version worn in the stands.
- Player cut (on-field): tighter and lighter, cut for movement, closer to the body.
- Youth XL runs into a men's S almost exactly — a clean hand-off point.
- Free shipping over $68, 30-day returns, and a free size check before dispatch.
The three cuts, and what they cost
| Build | How it fits | Typical price |
|---|---|---|
| Adult replica | Relaxed through the body, standard sleeve, the everyday fan shirt | $45.90 |
| Adult replica, long sleeve | Same body as the short-sleeve replica, extended sleeve | $49.90 |
| On-field (player cut) | Tighter, lighter, cut to move — the version built for playing rather than watching | $85.99 |
| Women's replica | Tapered and contoured, shorter body | $45.90 |
| Youth replica, long sleeve | General youth chart by age and height | $49.90 |
| Youth replica, short sleeve | Same body, standard sleeve | $45.90 |
The price gap between $45.90 and $85.99 is the practical difference between the two builds. The on-field shirt is the one that behaves like a piece of playing kit: lighter fabric, a closer chest, a shorter run through the body. If you wear a t-shirt under your football shirts, buy the on-field cut a size up or stay with the replica.
Men's soccer jersey chart
| Size | Chest (in) | Chest (cm) | Length (in) | Length (cm) | US size | EU size |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| XS | 33–35 | 84–89 | 27 | 69 | 34–36 | 44 |
| S | 35–37 | 89–94 | 28 | 71 | 36–38 | 46 |
| M | 37–40 | 94–102 | 29 | 74 | 38–41 | 48–50 |
| L | 40–43 | 102–109 | 30 | 76 | 42–44 | 52–54 |
| XL | 43–47 | 109–119 | 31 | 79 | 46–48 | 56 |
| 2XL | 47–51 | 119–130 | 32 | 81 | 50–52 | 58–60 |
| 3XL | 51–55 | 130–140 | 33 | 84 | 54–56 | 62 |
Read the length column as well as the chest. A men's L football shirt is 30 inches / 76 cm from the highest shoulder point to the hem, which is shorter than an NFL or NHL shirt in the same nominal size. That is deliberate — it is why a football shirt can look correct untucked while a hockey jersey cannot.
Women's soccer jersey chart

Youth and toddler sizes
| Size | Ages | Chest (in) | Chest (cm) | Height (in) | Height (cm) | Weight (lb) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| S | 7–8 | 26–27 | 66–69 | 50–54 | 127–137 | 55–70 |
| M | 9–12 | 28–30 | 71–76 | 55–60 | 140–152 | 75–95 |
| L | 13–15 | 31–33 | 79–84 | 61–63 | 155–160 | 100–120 |
| XL | 16–18 | 34–36 | 86–91 | 64–67 | 163–170 | 125–145 |
Toddler sizes run 2T, 3T and 4T, covering heights from 84 cm to 104 cm and chests of 53–58 cm. Toddler shirts are only made for selected teams, so check the team page before assuming a size exists. When you are stuck between 2T and 3T, take 3T — children grow out of football shirts long before they wear them out.
The one cross-league table worth keeping
If you own shirts from more than one league, this is the shortcut. Find your chest measurement on the left and read across.

A 40-inch chest wears a soccer L and an NHL M. That is not a mistake in either chart — hockey jerseys are simply cut far wider, which is why a 40-inch chest wears an NHL S the way it wears a soccer L. These are body measurements, never garment measurements.
How to measure, in six steps
- Chest — the important one. Around the fullest part, directly under the armpits, tape parallel to the floor. Do not puff your chest out.
- Waist. Around the narrowest part of your torso, usually just above the belly button.
- Hip — for shorts. Around the fullest part of hips and seat, feet together.
- Body length. From the highest shoulder point next to the collar, straight down to where you want the hem.
- Sleeve. For long-sleeve shirts, from the shoulder seam to the wrist with the arm slightly bent.
- Inseam — for pants. From the crotch straight down the inside of the leg to the ankle bone.
No tape measure? Use a piece of string, mark the point where it meets, then lay the string against a ruler. It is accurate enough for sizing, and it is what we recommend over guessing from a shirt that already fits loosely.
Before you check out
If you are still unsure, you do not have to guess. Place the order with your best estimate, then send your height, chest and waist measurements to fanservice2026@outlook.com or through the order message. We check the size before the shirt ships, and if a different size fits you better we send that one instead. Shipping is free over $68, and returns run to 30 days.
New kit lands throughout the season — the soccer new-season page and the full soccer collection are the two places to watch, and the complete chart with all six leagues, shorts, jackets and international conversions lives on the size guide.
Frequently asked questions
Do soccer jerseys run small?
They run slim rather than small. The chest measurements match standard sizing, but the body is cut closer and the hem is shorter than in other leagues. If you want a looser look, size up one.
What is the difference between the player cut and the replica cut?
The replica cut is relaxed and cut for the stands. The on-field player cut is tighter through the chest, lighter, and built for movement. On most teams the replica sits at $45.90 and the on-field shirt at $85.99.
What size is a youth XL in adult sizes?
A youth XL fits most teenagers up to roughly 5'6" (168 cm) and chests of 34–36 inches. After that, move to a men's S, which is the natural next step.
Should I size up for a long-sleeve soccer jersey?
Only if you layer. The long-sleeve replica uses the same body as the short-sleeve version at $49.90, so if a short-sleeve L fits you, the long-sleeve L will too.
Can I send my measurements and have the size checked?
Yes. Order with your best guess, then send your height, chest and waist measurements to fanservice2026@outlook.com. We verify the size before dispatch and swap it if another size suits you better.
Do you use inches or centimetres on the chart?
Both, on every chart. The men's, women's and youth tables all show inches and centimetres side by side so you can match whichever you measured with.
